Michael Dwyer, Dip. Wool (Massey) – Managing Director

Michael has a lifetime of experience in the New Zealand wool trade, including 29 years with Mair Group where he was Managing Director of Mairwool from 1978 to 1991 and a Director of Mair Astley Holdings from 1980 to 1989.  His breadth and depth of experience covers all aspects of wool purchasing, processing and trading markets throughout the world.  Michael joined the Company prior to the commencement of its operations and has been Managing Director since WSI established its business in 1992.

Geoff Deakins, B.Com CA– Financial Controller

Geoff has spent over 20 years specialising in financial activities within the wool industry, particularly in relation to local and export market transactions.  Geoff joined WSI in 1992.

John Dawson, B Ag Com – General Manager

John was previously with the Mair Group from 1978 to 1992 and was appointed a director of Mair Wool in 1989.  John joined WSI in 1992 and specialises in international wool marketing where he has acquired an in-depth knowledge of markets in the European, Pacific and Asiaregions.  John is deputy to the Managing Director.

Paul Steel, Dip. Wool (Massey) – Marketing Manager

Previously with the New Zealand Wool Board and fibre marketing manager at Wools of New Zealand, Paul joined WSI at its inception in 1992 and has been instrumental in WSI successfully establishing markets in the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East and is in charge of marketing in Japan.

Malcolm Ching – Purelana Manager

Malcolm has in excess of 30 years experience in wool buying activities throughout New Zealand.  He joined WSI at its inception in 1992 and he has expertise in inspection and purchasing procedures as well as technical specifications.  Malcolm is responsible for managing the direct purchasing schemes and liaising with farmers.  He also carries out any special projects relevant to the Company’s operations and assists the marketing team.

Adrian Donnelly, General Manager – Whakatu Wool Scour

Adrian has held various positions within the scouring industry for over 30 years.  He was previously manager of Clifton Wool Scour between 2001 and 2009 and joined Whakatu Wool Scour as General Manager in May 2009.

Don Caradus, General Manager- Kaputone Wool Scour

Don has held various positions in the scouring industry over the last 28 years.  He has worked at Kaputone Wool Scour since 1994 and has held the position of General Manager since 2005.

Jason Stewart -Shipping Manager

Jason joined WSI in 2009 after 16 years in the shipping and logistics industry . He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company.
