WSI promotes wool’s natural qualities, and caters to growing consumer demand for natural, environmentally sustainable fibres, produced with minimal impact on the environment.

Over the past five years we have undertaken a number of upgrades at our Kaputone scour to lift the quality of wastewater discharged. As a result, effluent from Kaputone is 30 to 50 times cleaner than that of any other New Zealand wool scour. We believe the exacting environmental standards we achieve for scoured wool from Kaputone are unmatched anywhere in the world.

Both our scours have been accredited with Environmental Choice certification. Kaputone has been certified with AsureQuality and is approved to scour organically produced wool. Kaputone is also the only scour in New Zealand to scour wool to the European - ECO-LABEL standards.
